Managing Director

Prof Lilantha Samaranayake

Prof Lilantha Samaranayake [PhD (KTH, Sweden), Tech. Lic. (KTH,Sweden), BSc Eng First Class Hons (Peradeniya), MIEEE] received his BSc Eng from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2000 and Tech. Licentiate and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden in 2003 and 2006 respectively. He has been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka since 2007. He has been a Research Fellow in the Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan and in the Advanced Vehicle Engineering Centre, Cranfield University, UK. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.

His expertise at PhD level is in Distributed Control Systems where in the feedback loops of systems are closed through communication networks. His current research interests include electric vehicle powertrains, renewable energy systems, industrial robotics and wireless distributed control systems. He has co-authored over fifty publications in peer reviewed journals and international conferences and his Google h-index is 9.

From 2009 to 2011 he contributed to the National Nanotechnology Initiative in the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (SLINTEC) as a Senior Scientist. Further, he has been a member of the Board of Governors in the Arthur C Clerk Institute for Modern Technologies from 2011 to 2014, the Deputy Director of the International Research Centre of the University of Peradeniya from 2012 – 2013 and the Director of the Engineering Design Centre from 2016-2018, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya. He is also the Director of the Engineering Technology Incubation Centre (ETIC) of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya.

Dr Shantha Sooriyabandara

Dr Shantha Sooriyabandara [MBBS(Peradeniya), MD, FRCR, FRANZCR] has nearly 25 years of experience in the medical and managerial domains. Before moving to Adelaide Australia in 2006, he was a Consultant Radiologist in Sri Lanka with extensive exposure to general radiology including hands on ultrasound scanning.

He is currently a Senior Consultants Radiologist attached to Department of Medical Imaging in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Adelaide where he is the head of the UltraSound Department and a supervisor for Radiology specialist training programme. He has a passion for interventional radiology and special interest in women’s imaging, prostrate MRI and MSK ultra sound. He also extends his services to Sound Radiology Institute, in Adelaide South Australia. He assists international medical graduates through working as an assessor for RANZCR.

He is also one of the founder directors of Australasian Medical Imaging (Pvt) Ltd, Kurunegala, Sri Lanka.
